I was diagnosed about a year ago, but I've been having symptoms for four years now. I have classic symptoms of the 3:1 ratio of the two hormones ( i cant remember the names offhand), slightly hairier than normal, irregular or absent periods, and the tiny cysts. I have tried about 7 different BCP's but all seem to have the same result- continual bleeding throughout the whole cycle. I am very fed up w/ pills and conventional medications at this point and would like to start trying herbal or alternative methods to induce a regular cycle. My questions are: 1. Does anyone w/ a similar background have any suggestions? 2. Do gynos and/or MD's accept the herbal/alternative route? I have read that anyone taking some of these herbs should do so under some guidance and so i dont want to just go out and start selfmedicating. Also, i would like to add: i am 20 and have not had any children yet. However, it is something that i look forward to very much and so would like to get my cycle semi-straightened out soon!
