If you take a drug daily (or several times a day), it's b/c your body has metabolised that drug and you need to keep a more constant level in your system. So in the case of met (or a bcp or allergy pill, etc.) that you take daily, one day ought to do it. For drugs that you take less frequently (methotrexate and other IV drugs used for rheumatoid arthritis jump to mind), however long it is b/tw doses is how long it will take your system to metabolise it and be rid of it completely. HTH!
