It sounds like classic anemia, though it could be one of several different types (vitamin deficiency--especially the B vitamins, iron deficiency, etc.). I'm reading the information sheet the pharmacy provided with my Glucophage XR, and it states, "Before using this medication, consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have: ...a history of blood problems (anemia, vitamin B-12 deficiency)."

Based on this, it seems logical that there could be a connection. A routine CBC could determine if you're anemic. If you are, further workup could determine the specific cause.
