Help" Reply: margot: "Re: Scared of Metformin! Help" HI everyone.. Well, I got my official PCOS diagnosis today after an ultrasound. My doctor gave me the go ahead to start Metformin. My problem is, I am super paranoid to take it after reading about all the side effects. I am a worry wart by nature, and reading about Lactic Acidosis, etc really scares me! Has anyone had any real problems taking it? Do they benefits outweigh the risks? I am not planning on trying to conceive until the Fall. Does it make sense to start the medication this early?
