Will hair loss occur as a result of taking Glucophage or metformin? (To Dr. Sam and everyone with experience on these meds)

Hi, everyone,

My hair is regrowing after a prolonged bout of telogen effluvium, and I'm preparing to begin taking a relatively small dose of Glucophage. I've read that hair loss can occur as a result of this, and I'm very concerned.

Is this likely to occur? My RE will be prescribing a small dose, mainly as a preventive measure... I know that I probably do need to take it, as IR is the underlying cause, but the thought that it may undo the improvement in my hair is very distressing. It's a self-esteem issue, I guess, but it's still important.

Any thoughts, experiences, and/or advice would be greatly appreciated. And thank you to those who responded to a previous question I asked - the information was most helpful.
