Hi, I've posted here about before about the side effects I had and the weight loss in the beginning of my Metformin treatment, on the positive side wanted to share how well it's worked so far.

It's been less then 3 months on met, starting with 1000mgs a day and 3wks after to 1500mgs a day then another 3 wks and now up to 2000mgs a day. My doctor said it would not regulate my menstrual cycle for atleast 3 months, however it only took 1 month and I got the first period in many years without taking hormones. Low and behold it was just about a month after that I got another one. So very impressed.

Other then the hell I went through when starting met and when uping to the 1500mgs. All of the following have happened:

Menstrual Cycle regular twice now.

Skin has gotten much clearer.

Have lost close to 20lbs which is 1/5 of goal to lose.

I sleep better, had breathing probs at night that have subsided according to hubby.

I have way more energy, and my muscles and limbs feel more alive.

Less panic attacks.

Less headaches and dizzy spells.

Cholestorol levels down.

Liver enzymes down (fatty liver).

Please note I'm not trying to get pregnant and am 36yrs old. I've had PCOS symptoms since I was 22 and insurance would not cover met for almost a year that my doctor had tried to put me on it because I did not have irregular sugar levels. It took the LH to be abnormal balance and the testosterone to be elevated. If the insurance company had not pushed for so many tests and just let the doctor do what he knew was right, almost a year of uncontrollable weight gain and feeling lousy would not have been.

I just wanted to share my good stuff with everyone.

Take Care all and I hope you have great results too!!!
