>>The point here is this girl isn't a child anymore, she has chosen her
decisions carefully, and her finalizing >>results is what she has to live with, so I'm sure it wouldn't affect your life

Could this be any more NOT true????? I've been staying out of this, but when I read this, I couldn't keep quiet any more. The fact of the matter is that SHE does not have to live with the results, the CHILD, who had no say or choice in this whatsoever, is the one who has to live with the results!!!!!! If the world would stop being so convinced that the minute a person turns 18 years old that they are capable of making any decision they wish, the world would be a lot better place. The fact is there are VERY FEW 18 year olds who have the experience, maturity, and knowledge to make decisions that will affect the lives of numerous people for years to come. The problem is, their experience, maturity, and knowledge lead them to believe that their decisions only effect themselves. And as far as it not affecting the respondent, or others for that matter...take a look at your taxes....a BIG chunk of tax dollars go toward funding programs for illiterate teenagers so they can take care of their illiterate children, to funding healthcare programs because the ill-prepared teenage parents can't make enough money without an education to take care of their children (sick or healthy), toward corrections programs because the teenage parents found out that a child was too much responsibility for them, so they just didn't care, and their kid ends up in all sorts of trouble because he/she had no guidance/love from the teenage parents. I am not bitter, I am not resentful, I am not trying to be offensive, I am being brutally HONEST!! If she (and others) can't take the truth, they shouldn't come looking for advice! This girl, and others like her, need to grow up and realize that having a baby will not make them mature adults, and they need to step out of their self-centered worlds and think about what kind of life they can REALISTICALLY provide to a baby/child!! *stepping off my soapbox now*
