Re: Newly DiagnosedFrom: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 18 May 2003 13:08:40 -0500 (CDT)
Hi Beth my name is AManda, I'm 25 yrs old and have had PCOS for the last 9 yrs. I too have been having problems with the hair growth and weight gain, in one year I went from a size 18-14-18 again, it's like a never ending rollercoaster ride. What I have noticed is that when working with a "normal" diet, no excess amounts of anything not needed, it can work out. But while doing that I had tried Apple Cider Vinegar capsules for 3 months, and exercise consisted of one hour of walking per day and normal household chores. It did work at that time (prior to miscarriage in 2001) I was a happy size 12, but since that had happened I haven't been able to get a grip on my weight, I have managed to keep it at a steady amount, just nothing favourable. The way you explained it all, it sounds a lot like Hypothyroidism, my father and sister both have this, and have struggled with weight gain for so long. It is a really hard road to walk down no matter which endocrine disorder you have, just keep on trying and don't let it get you down!
