Depo-Provera shotFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 15 May 2003 11:18:21 -0500 (CDT)
I recently went to the doctor, in tears, because I've been at the end of my rope not knowing what to do. Having my period for nearly 6 months, I've taken 4 different kinds of birth control to stop the bleeding and nothing has helped. I was taking 3 pills a day, just for a small amount of relief. So, she recommended that I take the Depo-Provera shot, and told me I wouldn't bleed anymore. It's been 3 days, and I feel SO good. I haven't had any spotting, cramping, anything, for the first time in months. I have a job interview today (haven't worked in 6 months either), but I was just reading some of the horror stories about the shot...now I'm kind of scared. If I take it for several months, but then start bleeding again, without it stopping, I'll be devestated. I'm not sure what I should do...anyone have anything reassuring to say? =)
