Re: GloucophageFrom: Becky (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 13 May 2003 13:18:04 -0400
I was supposed to start Metformin / Glucophage right before my annual Disney World trip. I chose to put it off until I returned. If this in an option for you, I think it's the best thing. Once you get started and the meds get into your system, you're not going to want to stop them. Alcohol - avoid it as much as possible, but a drink now and then is not going to effect anything. However, if you choose to start the meds after your trip, you can drink up. ;) -----Original Message----- From: Mary [mailto:anonymous@obgyn.net Sent: Tuesday, May 13, 2003 1:14 PM To: Multiple recipients of list PCOS-MEDICATION Subject: Gloucophage I am about to start taking Gloucophage for my PCOS. I have read that it makes you very ill for the first few months (or more). My husband and I have a week and a half primative camping trip coming up soon...can I start the meds then stop while on vacation? I have also heard you can't drink alcohol while on this medicine; usually it isn't a problem but this trip is the only time during the year I let my hair down. The trip is already paid for and nothing will keep me from it; I just want to be prepared. Any suggestions??
-- Blessings to you all, Mary
