I also had the same problem, the whole time I was on Clomid (off and on for a year), I was severely bloated and gained probably about 10 pounds or so. The bloating never went down. What was happening was I was getting huge cysts forming on my ovaries, AND my ovaries were doubling, tripling in size. They got so enlarged they were meeting in the middle of my abdomen and my uterus was balled up in the middle. No wonder I couldn't get pregnant. The doctor kept telling me to take it though, so you know I did. I finally decided to get off after this roller coaster of taking it for 2-3 months, then having to get off and let my ovaries return to normal size (which took 3-4 months w/no hormones), and then trying again. I am now on metformin and things are normalizing. I am in the midst of my 3rd cycle on the Metformin and I am having fairly normal cycles. They're longer than normal (about 37 days), but at least I'm ovulating on my own without Clomid. I am very down on Clomid use. It was a nightmare for me. ---sherry
