Candi Hi, my daughter was taking the xr and was so constipated we had to take her off it and put her back on 800mg cut in half 1 half morning and 1 half nightly it is much better that way. I myself feel much better on the Metformin I do not feel ill all day like i do on the Glucophage. I originally took my daughter off the regular Glucophage because she kept getting sick and throwing up that was after being on it for about a year and a half. Now that we have gone off the xr and went back to the regular she is fine. She just turned 7 who knew that a 4 year old could be diagnosed with PCOS. The constipation lasted the whole 6 or 7 months of trying XR.
