I have only been taking Metformin for a month.  I have had anemia for years also and
suffer chronically from symptoms of hypoglycemia.  I would be very intersted if you
find any new information about this condition.  I am 53 and have been struggling with
these "untreatable" fatigue attacks for years.  I would be willing to talk more if you
want to. Good luck to you.
