-- Hi Beth, I was diagnosed with PCOS about a year ago after going to soo many doctors. I knew something was wrong mainly because I wasn't getting my period. My doctor put me on glucophage in June of '02 (almost a year ago). For the first month, I was experiencing serious GI effects (nausea, diarrhea, and horrible gas), but after a while I didn't experience any of those symptoms. It was frustrating because I was still not getting my period, but finally in December I got my period and have been getting it regularly (every month) since then. My doc told me that it would take a while to kick in and to be patient. I am very pleased with the results. I feel much better and have lost 37 lbs so far! Good Luck! Hope this helps!
