Ok, I will help you as much as I can! 1) I started Glucophage in the beginning of November. My first period was on the 13th of February. It was longer than normal (around 7 days). My next period was 45 days later, and my next is soon to come. ( I hope ) 2) I've been told that a low carb diet is best while on Glucophage. If you limit your sugars, you seem to have less of the wonderful GI side effects. I however, have not done this. I've lost 35 pounds since being on the medicine, and continue to eat whatever I want. I think everyones body is different on how it reacts to this medicine. If I were to adhere to a low carb diet, I think my results would be much better. 3) My thoughts on alcohol is as follows: I drink 2-3 mixed drinks every 3-4 months. My doctor says its ok, but that I need to schedule my blood tests for several weeks after I have had alcohol. It tends to misconscrew your results. Glucophage is VERY hard on your liver and with the added affects of alcohol, you're likely to have problems down the road. I hope this helps. If you have additional questions, let me know!
