Re: anyone on the minipill? or minesse? From: Pau (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 22 Apr 2003 01:12:57 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, in response to your question, I just started taking oral contraceptives and my gynecologyst gave me Minesse (Gestodene 60 ug/Ethinylestradiol 15 ug. I'm 20 and had never ever taken oral contraceptives before. SO, here's my view. Dr said to start the pill the day my period came, so I did. usually my period lasts between 5 to 7 days... well this time it lasted like for 12 days, first it eas normal flow for 5 days, then i kept on spotting a little heavier than normal for 7 days... then it stopped & I was feeling wonderful, but this only lasted 5 days, and I'm bleeding again, nor it's not spotting, it's bleeding, like I usually get my period, and i've been like this for a week. I'm worried, but Dr. says It's normal, that my body is adjusting itself to the new dose of hormones. honestly don't know if I'll continue with this bloody little buggers!!! It's really uncomfortable to be bleeding for almost a month... anyway, tell you later if I find out anything else on the minesse. but if you want to avoid all this mess, ask your gynecologyst if you an take "Yasmin" (think i spelled it right) my friends are taking it, the dose is a little higher than minsesse's, but none of them have reported such weird periods. who knows, maybe I switch to Yasmin too. good luck and write if you have any q's.
