PCOS and ProgylutonFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 2 Apr 2003 13:40:37 -0600 (CST)
Hi! I have had irregular periods since I was 18 years old. I got pregnant 4 years ago, but I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia, and my baby died at 6.5 months. My irregular periods did not end there, last year I went to my doc for that same reason and he said that I may have PCOS and sent me to do a blood test. I went to see another doc, who told me its just a hormone imbalance, and he put me on PROGYLUTON for 3 months. This worked great! I finally was normal, regular periods and all. But its been 2 months since i've been off, and today is the first day of my period. Should I be more concerned, that maybe it isn;t a simple hormone imbalance and maybe I do in fact have PCOS? What if I went back on Progyluton for an extended period, would that help even if I do have PCOS? I just want to be normal and healthy again, and more than anything else, I am 25 and would like to start a family ...NOW!! Would you suggest that I get tested for PCOS (which I fear), or go back on Progyluton? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
