Dr. Sam, I've been taking metformin for three years now and it has helped my pcos dramatically. I'm 39 yrs old and just four weeks pregnant. My gyn is very uncomfortable with my staying on met past the first trimester. But of course I can do it if I want to. She said with pcos, I am very vulnerable to gestational diabetes whether I stay on met or not. I thought the met would stop me from getting gestational diabetes. If I go off of met at week 13 am I more vulnerable to gaining weight and getting diabetes. I'm very scared to go off of a medicine that's changed my life. What's your opinion. thanks.
