Dr. Sam, I am sorry, I did not realize on my 1st message that all the result numbers did not print. Her 1 hour glucose was 98, her 2 hour glucose was 66 and the insulin test came back at 4. The test was a 2 hr. glucose with fasting insulin. She was not on the metformin or had ever been at the time of the testing. Her doctor had also taken her off BCP's for 3 weeks before any of the tests were done. My daughter has never had cycles without being on BCP's, except for maybe 2 or 3 times. She is 21. We had taken her to 2 or 3 different doctors since she was 15 and was told it was not a big deal. Put her on BCP's or wait and let her body kick in on her own. Last spring, with no change in her diet, she lost 10 lbs. She is athletic, healthy eater, usually 105lbs., 5ft.2in.. Concern began when in Oct. she unexplainably began gaining weight and no amount of cutting back food or exercise would make it go away. She has gained 10-15lbs. and is wondering if this is going to stop. She had an ultrasound an no polycystic ovaries. LH level was 148.0 in December and and FSH level was 7.4. When studies repeated in February, LH was 20.2 and FSH was 6.9.(She was not on BCP's during either testing) Doctor feels first LH level had to have been a mistake by the lab??? Estradial was 56 and Progesterone was 68. These are all the symptoms she has had, basically, no cycles and weight gain. Your help is abudantly appreciated. Thanks!!
