Met has stopped workingFrom: Livvie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 25 Mar 2003 20:16:14 -0600 (CST)
I was diagnosed with pcos 8 years ago and have been on met for 5 yrs or so. I believe the met has stopped working. I have not changed my diet/exercise at all. I started out on 1000 mg of met a day for about 2 yrs and it worked wonders. I lost 40 lbs and my head hair started getting thicker. It did not do much for the hair growth, it may have slowed it a bit. Now I am currently taking 2500 mg a day because my doctor keeps upping the dose as it no longer seems to be working for me. I have gained back 30 lbs and my hair is falling out in clumps again. I am noticing more facial hair growth as well. Has this happened to anyone else? Any advice? Do I need to switch to something else? Help! I am so frustrated! {I also posted this on the other pcos board} livvie
