Help! Are we imagining things!From: Elaine (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 25 Mar 2003 18:46:17 -0600 (CST)
My daughter's RE just called to verify a lab test and I discussed with her how she was doing since the PCOS diagnosis. I explained that the BCP's are resulting in normal cycles, however the weight continues to be an issue. She said there was absolutely no way medically that she could be IR since her 2hr Glucose fasting test with Insulin came back low (4). She couldn't explain the 15lb. weight gain in the last 6 months except to say she must have an eating disorder and needs to seek help(we've been working with a dietician to help with the Low Carb Diet). She said there was no way she could be eating the amount of food she eats and not be losing weight. I just had my daughter home for spring break and was with her 24/7 and cooked for her. I know what she ate. Can the test be wrong. This RE is young, newly graduated from John Hopkins. Shouldn't she know?
