Previous message: Jodi: "Re: Metformin & constipation AND Numbness??" Metformin (specifically Glucophage XR because the regular was making me sick) worked for me THE FIRST MONTH. I am on 1500mg a day. We tried on/off for 5 years without it so I call it my magic little pill. I even laughed at my Physician when he said I could get pregnant right away with it...but *surprise* he was right! Really wasn't expecting it to work at all and we were planning to go the Clomid route in January. By the way, my OB recommended I stay on it during pregnancy (I'm approaching 7 months now) to lower my risk of miscarriage and keep gestational diabetes at bay... so far it's working.
