PCOS + the pill = Worse PCOS??

I know I have to ask my health care professional about this, but I'm wondering if anyone can refer me to articles that might help, websites, or any info they have. I've not been tested, but I'm pretty sure I've got PCOS. For one, ever since menarche (at age 12) til now (at age 27) I've had extremely irregular periods, from 35 days to 5 months apart. I know i need to get tested and am planning to bring it up when my next gyn appointment is, but I'd just like to do some research first. I'm not worried about infertility as I'm worried about not getting pregnant, I'd just as soon get my tubes tied, but no doctor wants to do it as I'm "too young" and "I've not had any children" seems to be their reasons for knowing "what I want" more than I do. I don't want kids. Period. End of discussion. But well I've already had one unwanted pregnancy, and am thinking about going on some kind of bc pill to decrease those chances til I can get the tubal. But I've read little tidbits, and heard from other folks that the pill can aggravate PCOS. So I'd like to do a little research on this and see what the data says. Anyone help?
