Birth control pills to get PREGNANT?

Has anyone heard of taking birth control pills for a period of time (6 months, my doctor says) to make it more likely you will get pregnant afterwards with Clomid?

I was diagnosed with PCOS. We have already tried several cycles of Clomid. I have had 2 miscarriages. I took 6 months off, and my new doctor gave me three options for trying again.

1. Take birth control pills for 6 months, then Clomid. 2. Take Metformin for 8 weeks, then Clomid. 3. Skip straight to Clomid.

Any advice would be great.
