Cassandra, I mean space on the board and MY time. I in no way meant to imply that my time and space is more valuable than yours or that the information you post is less valid! My problem is that a while back I got an off-board email from the powers that be asking me to refrain from the "repetitive" posts so now I try to address the question more specifically. Maybe I get a little too criptic sometimes?

The Arbonne site is the best I've found that specifically addresses progesterone and pregnancy and mentions studies. The NPAN site is the best I've found for overall info on use of progesterone. By the way, their e-book gets very specific about dosing regimens for various conditions but the info is based mostly on the real-life experience of women using progesterone creams.

As for studies, I have been using P cream (several different brands, but mostly one, notice I don't mention names unless asked!) for almost 9 years now and I have seen first hand the benefits. As someone who once worked in medical research and saw doctors faking data to publish, I don't necessarily trust what I read in medical journals, especially considering the politics of alternative treatments versus pharmaceutical companies (who fund a great deal of the research).

You know, it seems a bigger issue with the Prometrium is the variance in the dosing, depending on how well your liver is working any particular day. I have a stash of it in my medicine cabinet for the rare menopause related "flooding" episodes I've experienced in the last couple of years. These are the times that physiologic doses from the cream just don't cut it. I need the whopping big overdose to stop the bleeding so I have to use the oral stuff. I suppose I could get a tube of really high dose prescription cream but I don't know how well it would hold up over time. Since I don't know what you're using it for or what dose I think your best bet for switching delivery systems is to talk to a compounding pharmacist.

I'm sorry if I sounded a little testy in my response. I have been "jumped" before and accused of selling product on these boards. Guess I'm a little sensitive about that issue! I have just had such amazing success with P that I feel I need to at least let other women know there are options.

I'll be curious to know what you decide to do about your travel plans. BJ
