My daughter was diagnosed with pcos at the age of TEN .From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 27 Feb 2003 16:53:46 -0600 (CST)
My daughter was diagnosed at 10, doctor laughed at me when I wanted her tested, but all her test came back positive, ultrasound, blood hormone levels, and bone age x-rays. I was told that she was the youngest to be diagnosed, specialist didn't even know how to treat her then. We waited a year after she started menstrating which was 11yrs old and she was first put on birth control pills but had side effects. She was just put on aldactone, for severe acne. Can anyone tell me what side effects that they are having due to this medication. Also my daughter has been having pain in her hands she said they feel swollen, this has been going on for a year, it's hard to get anwsers. One more question, does anyone know if this effects the muscle groups, my daughter plays competitive soccer and she pulled her adductor ( groin muscles) they don't want to heal and no one knows why. Does anyone have any of these symtoms. Sorry for so many questions, I am new to this and lost. Thank You,
