Best treatment?From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 25 Feb 2003 16:09:11 -0600 (CST)
I'm 19 and have just been diagnosed with PCOS, although my glucose levels are normal. How is this possible? I've just started Dianette (bcp) to control my greasy skin and irregular periods. These are my only symptoms - I am normal weight and don't have excess hair growth. The bloodwork showed elevated testosterone and slightly messed up LH and FSH (8 to 12). My Dr said that bcp is the best option since I'm not trying to get pregnant yet. I don't feel comfortable with this. My mom died of breast cancer at age 30. Should I be looking at some other form of treatment? I don't want all my symptoms to come back full force when I come off the pill to try and get pregnant. What should I do?
