Yes, it will get better. But while you're experiencing the gastro distress/side effects of met, go ahead and take one tablet of loperamide HCl(2 mg)--in the US, it's marketed as Immodium AD. You can take one per dose of met and not have problems; it will stem the 'running to the loo' w/o causing any other undesired effects. You may find that you have to do that each time you up your dose (until you get to the desired dose of 1500 mg per day); some people adjust within a few days, others a few weeks, but everyone who tolerates it adjusts by a month or two. In the meantime, buy stock in the maker of your loperamide maker! ; ) HTH
