I have been suffering from pcos for the past 12 years and it is really
frustrating and disappointing that treatment for this condition in the
uk is far far behind that in the usa.
If u can I would suggest going to the usa to be treated although I know
this is not an easy option.
UK doctors have only just started metformin on low doses and thats only
some of them - they are NOT licensed to give spironolactone nor
actos/avandia nor anything else for PCOS
All they do is put you on the bcp
Have been on this for 12 years
If you tell them about something you read on the Internet they don't
want to know and just diss you.
Its such a shame - I really hope the nhs and medical profession in the
uk wake up and treat this disorder seriously instead of just telling you
to 'cheer up and lose weight!" but if they will maybe just a joke
