Hi there I currently am living in the UK and was diagnosed with PCOS about three years ago, since then my specialist has tried me on a few things including Metformin. It seems in the uk you might have to be referred to a specialist gyny before your GP will consider putting you on Metformin. You dont have to go Private for it as its available from the NHS. I hope this helps any more questions please say.
