I have been on Aldactone for 6 years with Demulen, but then I moved to England where Demulen is not available. So now I'm on Diane-35 and Aldactone. Diane-35 is a birth control pill like the others but it has anti-androgen properties as well so yes, you can take it with Aldactone. I still get the odd spot/pimple now and again, and have to tweeze a few stray hairs...even after years of electrolysis so neither one of the drugs are a miracle. I'm actually having problems with Diane-35 because it's making my periods very long 7-10 days and the bleeding is not as light as it was while I was on Demulen. Also, I have intense cramps before and during my period which I never experienced while on Demulen. I thought Diane-35 would be a miracle drug but it's not. Also, I'm one of few PCO patients who is thin as well. I have congential pituitary disfunction. There are three types of PCO: the type I just mentioned, insulin resistence, and obesity induced. Two of them are treated with weight loss and Metform (and similar drugs). The type I have is not curable. It's something you are born with and die with. The pituitary gland in addition to the ovaries produce elevated amounts of androgens. So the chances that you have insulin resistence are lower, but your doctor should be able to test you just to make sure. I've had every test done to make sure I knew what I was dealing with.
