Re: Metformin and Migraines?

I took met for about a year, without changing my diet, and suffered the entire time with listlessness and stomach upsets. Then I stopped taking it because it made me kinda blue, and you can get tired of that after a while. Anyway, I had an endometrial polyp in December and my doc told me I really, really needed to be on the met. I have been doing Atkins for about 2 months and taking the met for about 2 weeks (at a low dose of 500 mg, to increase every 2 weeks until at 1500 mg) and I have had no trouble at all this time! I think a low-carb diet really helps with the nausea and stuff. I didn't have migraines and don't this time, but maybe the low-carb thing might alleviate your headaches!

Good Luck!
