I am 23 and was finally diagnosed with pcos about a year ago after many years of symptoms and a complicated pregnancy. I have been through a lot of blood testing, ultrasounds and a gynecologist who was really doing nothing for me. Now I have found a wonderful endocrinologist who has helped me tremendously. One thing is that she did say my total/ free testosterone is somewhat alarming. Currently I am on the Ortho Evra patch and Glucophage XR. The patch has brought my periods back and the Gluc. has ended the hypoglycemic attacks so far. But the plucking and waxing is getting old! In a few months I am due to have my blood re-evaluated and at that time my RE said she may put me on an additional medication for all of the hair growth. Can anyone tell me what types of medications are out there that are safe to use with my current meds. and what side effects they may have? I would really appreciate any advice! Good luck to everyone.
