Hi,

are you being treated for the PCOS and hypothyroid?

For weight loss, it is very important to get the thyroid replacment right - and to take the right dose and form. Most people just take T4 which is converted in the body to T3, but some people need to take T3. Also, what is your dr. target TSH level. Soem dr. aim for just within the 'normal' range. My Dr. says that she normally aims for a TSH of about 1.

Metformin can help some people with the weigvth issue. Or at least stabilise it.

For me, weight loss comes with very strict diet (cut out all refined or white carbs - ie. bread, noodles, pasta, rice, white flour, sugar, candy, cakes, fruit juice, etc) but still eat moderate amounts of complex high fibre carbs - veges (except potato and corn), slow cooking oatmeal, limited fruit (and never juice) and regular exercise.

Weight loss even with this has been very very slow - I tend to go for long periods without losing any weight then suddenly losing 6 - 10 lbs and then nothing for ages again. BUt wieght treaining - to increase muscle mass and hence metabolism has been very helpful.

Hope this helps
