One of the first issues I addressed was the label sticker on the bottle referring to no alcohol. (I'm italian and cannot begin to imagine life without my grandfather's homemade wine). I spoke with my pharmacist and my doctor and they both told me the same thing. Moderate intake of alcohol while on glucophage is okay; Glucophage is a diabetic medication and alcohol should not be consumed by diabetics because of the sugar content in alcohol and the effects on the liver.
