Hi,

I have been reading about Conjugated Linloleic Acid and it's effect on increasing insulin sensitivity. If I understand correctly, an overabundance of insulin can throw production of other hormones out of sync. From what I have read, CLA should be naturally abundant in red meat but commercially available meat is lacking in CLA because of modern farming/feedlot practices. I did a Google Search and found several sights with information on CLA.

I have not tried CLA because I only heard about it after I started on a low-carb diet combined with Metformin. This combination seems to be working miracles and I don't want to want to throw anything else into the mix. My hair has stopped falling out, my basal body temps seem to be stabilizing and according to my temp charts, I ovulated this month. Also, I have no more uncontrollable urges for sweets and breads and the best part is that I have dropped from a size 24 to a size 18 since I started only 5 weeks ago(I don't own a scale but will know the weight loss numbers at my next doctor's visit.) If the weight loss continues, I might actually find the courage to buy a scale and use it regularly.
