I have PCOS for 20 years, I have been taking Yasmin for 6 months. The first 4 months, I noticed no changes in my facial hair. However at about 4-5 months my facial hair was greatly reduced, my excess body hair decreased. However, I lost a big patch of hair off the side of my head. Cortisone and rogaine have not helped. I continue to shed a lot of hair on my head. I worried that I would loose more hair, so I stopped the Yasmin this month. Also, prior the the alopecia areata, I got ridging and pitting on my nails (psoriasis). My nails are crumbling and I am afraid that they will come off the nail bed. So had to stop the Yasmin. I also had weird rashes and skin problems in Yasmin.I regret having to get off Yasmin, because I felt better on these pill than any other. I felt like I wasn't craving carbs. My PMS was very light. I wasn't moody. But it's a trade off. I guess I would rather look healthy (with hair and nails) than feel healthy.
