Mary:
In my experience, the libido factor is very black and white. When I'm
on the pill, I don't care about sex at all. When I'm not on the pill,
I'm (in my happy husband's words) a nympho. We have been together 15
years and that has always been the case. So while I think that in some
situations, depression can cause low sex drive, I know that for me the
problem is hormonal. I am currently on Zoloft for mild moodiness and I
find that most anti-depressants can have a terrible effect on my sex
life because many of them tend to cause orgasmic difficulty. I have
been on and off anti-depressants for ten years. Now I'm on a very low
dose of Zoloft (50 mg) and it's not causing me any sexual problems.
Anyway, I doubt if it's all in your head. Good luck!
