Forbidden AlcoholFrom: Chele (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Dec 2002 16:42:16 -0500
I admit...I have never been the sort of person to enjoy alcohol in abundance. I was always the sort of person who would have a glass of wine or a margarita during dinner every 6 months or so, literally. I have never imbibed alcohol on any sort of regular basis. However, the prospects of not being able to have a glass of champagne this NYE is bothering me (last year, I had a single sip). ;-) Last week, DH and I went out for dinner at an Italian restaurant and I took such a small sip of his wine, just to taste it on my lips...it was so good! (forbidden fruit, perhaps) Are we to NEVER have a drink at all while on Metformin? What if we're on it for the rest of our lives? I feel a little ridiculous asking these questions, but I don't know who else to ask. No, alcohol certainly isn't necessary in life, but I'd like to know that I can have a single glass of wine or champagne once a year and not damage my liver or become ill as a result. What's the deal? Any opinions? Chele
