The information in the first two posts copied below is incorrect. The
medication derived from the urine of pregnant horses is Premarin, *not*
Pergonal. Premarin is actually an acronym based on the source--PREgnant
MAre uRINe.
Mary's post about Pergonal contains the correct information, although I
cannot seem to get the link to work. BTW, Pergonal is also derived from
urine--but it is the urine of post-menopausal *human* females (i.e.
older women.)
Repronex is another brand name of FSH and LH, like Pergonal, and is
discussed at the "menotropins" link below. The other link ("conest")
discusses Premarin:
