Ladies:

Electrolysis did help me get rid of beard hair and mustache. But it comes back if I do not stay on bcp. I had it done at age 19 and the hair stayed gone until age 33 when I stopped nursing my daughter. The hormones were okay while I was pregnant and nursing. Then I had to go back on the pill and get some electrolysis touch-ups. It's also important to find an electrologist who is licensed b/c if it is done improperly, it doesn't kill the hair follicle. I have always used Gregory System (a chain in the US with no complaints). My only other advice is to take some codeine and use EMLA numbing cream (by prescription only) before the treatment because it IS painful, esp. the upper lip area. Now I understand why kissing is so fun -- lots of nerve endings!!
