PCOS MISDIAGNOSIS

To all of my "cysters"-

This will likely be my last post to a PCOS forum. After being diagnosed twice by OBGYN's, who were basing the diagnosis on the fact that I didn't have a normal period from 4/01 - 10/01, I finally decided to go to an R.E.

I just got home from my appointment and I am elated! Based on the fact that I have had periods that you can set you calendar by and after looking at my ovary ( I lost one to a HUGE, Dermatoid (?) cyst 9 years ago, and had RT ovary removed) I have been told that I am as fertile as anyone!!!! This is the greatest Christmas gift I have ever gotten! What my point of the post is is this...MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE A DIAGNOSIS W/ A REPRODUCTIVE ENDOCRINOLOGIST before you believe you have PCOS, especially if you have never tried to concieve....

I have been depressed, sad, unhappy, etc ever since getting this diagnosis, and today I was set free. They of course are doing studies on my blood, etc. but I am sure now that the first diagnosis was wrong.

I still know what you are going through if you have PCOS, because for all intents and purposes, I did have it since 11/9/01.

Please, heed what I say and get it checked out by an R.E. Its amazing when you put something down, you realize how heavy it was.

To those who were correctly diagnosed, my prayers are with you....Good luck and God Bless.
