Excuse my ignorance but on reading the site for info on Cyproterone Acetate I have seen this drug Diane 35 mentioned. Is it a contraceptive pill? And is it the same as Androcur. I am currently on Metformin and have had great success in just a few months in getting my cycle back under control. I am now looking to try and reduce the hirsutism I have but as we would like another child (I already have two) I am reluctant to mess up my hormones too much and want to plan at least 6 months clear before trying for a child.

Can anyone give me advice or point me in the right direction. My physician here in UK is happy to prescribe 2mg cyproterone Acetate but has been unable to source such a low dose. It appears that those taking it do so in a much larger dose and the comment of not taking it on its own - why?

Are there any medical papers on this subject?

I do hope someone has info that might help. My hirsutism has become much worse since having my last child 20 months ago. Thanks
