I was tested for insulin resistance and my levels were normal, however, he put me on 500mg of metformin once a day for a week. Twice a day in the second week. 3 in the 3rd week and 3 a day there after until further observation. I am at the end of my first week, and I am seeing a small improvment with my acne already. I can see why they start off low because it can cause cramping. I hope it will work for me, but I may likely end up going on the FSH treatment cycle with follistim. It's so expensive though and insurance pays for met. I have spent a lot of time reading test results from met from doctors all over the country and the results for us PCOSers has been very positive. Hope this helps a bit. Nicki
