I started 1500 mg a day metformin 3 months ago and last week increased to 850mg twice a day. My doctor said it could take 4 or 5 months to have reguler periods but I have not any periods yet. As I know, it is not guarantee to have reguler periods with metformin. If you want to be pregnant, probably your doctor will add "clomiphene" to your treatment. Metformin's effective dosage is between 1000 and 2000 mg.
