Thank you all for your responses. Weaning is NOT an option at this time. My children have never had a drop of formula pass through their lips and God-willing, they never will :)

I am 3-days into my modified version of Atkins and have lost 3 lbs so far at last check. So I'll stick with that for now.

I will do some more research on the metformin and the Actos (never heard of this one) but honestly, if either is not suitable for my babies via my breastmilk, why would I want it in *my* body to begin with?

I will pursue alternative therapies.
