Re: Clomid and ovulationFrom: =?iso-8859-2?q?Zalányi Sámuel ?= (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 17 Nov 2002 18:07:40 -0800
Hello Charlotte, I reallize that you want to understand your condition and the treatment, but this no quesswork. Ovulation in a very complicated process and there is a gyne proverb saying: the only certified ovulation is one that ends up in pregnancy. So basing your treatment on feeling sore niples and so on is no sound medicine.BBT is a good method, but usually you can judge your cycle only after you have completed, not durnig. The lessons to learn from your story: you should not start treating infertility without at least a basic work-up (ultrasoiund, hormones, tubes, partner). It is essential before starting Clomid or other drugs. It is also essential to monitor your treated cycle (BBT, ultrasoud, hormones) to see what happened. The starting dose of Clomid is rather at 50 mg instead of 100. My question: what would you start estrogens for? Improving cervical mucus or endometrium? What way would you apply it? Looking forward to your answers Sam (Ob/Gen, RE)
