Re: Please Help Me Understand

I am not an expert, but my understanding is that an excess of insulin causes a chain reaction when it comes to other hormones. Testosterone is normally produced in small amounts in the ovaries. With too much insulin, it can cause an overproduction of testosterone, which in turn has an effect on the function of the ovaries. Glucophage helps your body use the insulin it produces more efficiently. As a result, your body does not need to overproduce it. Insulin sensitivity is a problem for diabetics as well as those who are insulin resistant like many PCOSers. This may not be a technical explanation, but I think its fairly accurate. Hope this helps.
