I do not know if this would be of any help seeing that I just started the metformin myself and for the last 4days I am having some excrutiating pains in the lower left abdomen. But when I take the met, and eat it with a bannana I do not have the cramping in the stomach or the nausea, the diarrhea is also letting up some. If you do not feel like eating anything else try to eat fruit with some water when you take the met. I find that it helps me but, I know that everyone is different I am at the point where I cannot even exercise like before because I stay in abdominal pain so much!!!

ANYWAY GOOD LUCK!!
