Re: Meridia - anyone with experiences to shareFrom: Need (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 20 Oct 2002 21:24:25 -0500 (CDT)
Hi Sally. I was diagnose almost 4 years ago. When it became apparent that I was not going to lose any weight despite my strict diet (almost no carbs) and an even sticker exercise plan (2 hours a day 5 times a week) my Dr. put me on a med called ADAPEX . It was great I lost 20 pound in a few short months. It did have some side effect but nothing I could not handle. Then I had to switch Dr., the new Dr. took me off ADAPEX and put me on MERIDIA. My life went down hill I began to gain back all the weight even though I did not change my diet or exercise. I was constantly tiered, and depressed. I felt sick all the time, so I switched Dr. again. Now I am seeing a great Dr. He explained to me exactly why MERIDIA will not work for a PCOS patient and ADAPEX will. As of today I have lost 18 pounds in 2 months and I feel great. In short, I think you should ask you Dr. about ADAPEX rather than MERIDIA. Good luck. please let me know what happens even if you choose to take the MERIDIA in the end or if you have any other questions
